The Architecture
Inspired by the strong Dutch heritage evident in the beautiful buildings for which our town, Paarl is renowned, the decision to base Wilde Paarde Country Estate’s architecture on the contemporary Cape Vernacular style was an easy one. This is a more informal style of the older Cape Dutch style which the 17th century settlers made endemic to the Western Cape and lending itself to a charming country style. Replacing the elaborate gables and incorporating other modern features, the Vernacular style has proved to be very popular on Country Estates and wine estates in the region.
