Estate Living is very pleased to announce the start of our annual Gauteng, Durban, and Cape Town Property Development, Management, and Investment Events.
This will be the fourth year that Estate Living is hosting regional events that offer property developers and their professional teams along with property and community management and investors an opportunity to come together to network and engage in several interesting and relevant information sessions.
The theme of this year’s event is ‘Property Development and Management – Your new buyers, Gen Z property owners, are here. Do you know what they want?’
Gen Z are commonly referred to as the first fully ‘digitally native’ generation. Members of the Gen Z years were born between 1997 and 2012. So, as of 2024, the Gen Z age range is anywhere from 12 to 27.
They grew up with social media and smartphones – they’re used to living in a digital-first world. Gen Z customers are used to doing their own research. Perhaps because they grew up during the Great Recession, the digital natives of Generation Z are especially careful to learn about products before they commit to a purchase.
Gen Z people also value the ability to solve issues themselves. Research shows that ‘not being able to find the information I need online’ is considered one of the most frustrating aspects of bad customer service for a Gen Z customer. Companies or management need to provide for omnichannel service.
It is important that chatbots (a preferred first line of communication) are friendly and engaging, adopting a more consumer-centric attitude. Response time is also critical in the buyer’s experience. Investing in comprehensive self-service options and adopting ethical and environmentally friendly practices are also positioned high on the list of needs for your new customers.
Every generation has unique needs, traits, and preferences. If you don’t address each expectation properly, you may miss opportunities to boost your sales and improve your bottom line.
