Estate Living has been tasked with a research project for the Independent Power Providers and traders market, such as large scale solar and wind farms. We have created a short survey to assist with the gathering of information and would appreciate your participation.
As private electricity trading companies secure their licenses from the National Energy Regulator, we are witnessing the transformation of the SA electricity supply industry. Through the generation of power from independent power providers via the process of wheeling – Wheeling is the delivery of electricity generated by a single private operator in one location to a single buyer or off-taker in another location via a third-party network – residential communities can further secure their power supply and unit cost.
The rules set out by the National Energy Regulator with regards to the purchasing capacity, and sources of the power generated ( i.e. wind, solar, etc ) create an environment where the understanding of the residential markets electricity consumption and needs currently and in the future, becomes critical. Wheeling is the next big step in the transformation of the industry and for residential communities, access to the cost-savings that alternative energy suppliers can offer could supplement their own generation along with the municipalities .
The aim of this survey is to support and assist in the transformation that is much needed within the electricity sector. The residential property market has been part of a number of research projects over the years that have transformed the way we live – such as the research conducted around the rollout of fibre infrastructure in 2016 which has led the way to formalize predeployment policies
