In a bold stride toward redefining community living, Simbithi Eco-Estate is set to launch their highly anticipated Sports Complex—a state-of-the-art development blending wellness, recreation, and connection.

Representing a R24.6 million investment, the newly built facilities are geared to become a cornerstone of the estate’s vibrant and community-centred lifestyle which includes a lap pool, bowling green, pavilion deck, tennis, squash, and padel courts.

Situated within the picturesque KwaZulu-Natal North Coast, Simbithi Eco-Estate has long been celebrated for its sustainable luxury and integrated living. The newly built Sports Complex, strategically located at Simbithi Country Club, is set to reinforce the estate’s reputation as a leader in community living and design.

According to Jodi Chetty, Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Simbithi Eco-Estate, construction began in January 2024, led by an expert project team, including Simon Joubert of SJC Projects (contractor), Gerhard Breedt of Gerhard Architect, Quantity Surveyor, Christo van den Heever and engineer Rowan Shuttleworth of MonoBlock. The facility will officially open to residents and members on Friday, 13 December 2024. An open day will then take place on Saturday, 14 December 2024 for the community to experience the Complex,  just in time for the festive season.

“Sustainability remains central to the development. Every element of the Sports Complex has been designed with environmental stewardship and community in mind. From water conservation systems to eco-friendly landscaping, we’ve ensured this project aligns with Simbithi’s core values,” says Craig Nell, General Manager at Simbithi Country Club.

The Sports Complex at Simbithi Country Club boasts a range of exceptional features designed to enhance both recreation and community connection. Central to the sports complex is a lap pool supported by an innovative 280,000-litre attenuation tank, which facilitates effective stormwater management, with surplus capacity to provide backup storage for the Country Club, and garden irrigation. For tennis enthusiasts, three state-of-the-art courts provide optimal play surfaces, while two padel courts embrace the global surge in popularity of this exciting sport.

Lawn bowling enthusiasts may enjoy a synthetic surface designed to meet World Bowls-certified green. Indoor fitness is catered for with two modern squash courts, and residents may unwind at the Pavilion Deck, a stylish food and beverage micro-offering overlooking the padel courts. Completing the offering are appropriately appointed ablution and changing facilities, ensuring convenience and comfort for all visitors.

For residents, the Sports Complex offers a new way to experience life at Simbithi Eco-Estate – one that blends the latest in sporting infrastructure with a deeper connection to their neighbours and the environment. As Simbithi continues to innovate and lead the way in sustainable, integrated living, the Sports Complex promises to be a key part of the estate’s future, offering a place where fitness, fun, and community can thrive together.

As the December opening approaches, anticipation is growing among residents and members eager to explore this transformative addition to the estate. “The Sports Complex represents everything Simbithi stands for, innovation, sustainability, and the joy of living in a connected community. We can’t wait for our residents to make it their own,” concludes Simbithi Eco-Estate General Manager, Marc Mc Clure.
