From our humble beginnings in the early ‘80s, we’ve worked tirelessly to perfect production and supply methods that allow us to consistently produce South Africa’s highest quality container-grown trees, destined for long life in your garden. We’ve been growing, relocating, delivering, planting, and maintaining mature trees for over 30 years. Our expertise and range of over 15,000 ready-to-plant mature trees make us perfect for any domestic or commercial instant landscape transformation.

This continuous process of improvement has ensured that our Arboriculture-based service offering is unrivaled in South Africa. The dedicated Trees South Africa team expertly relocates, rescues, and rehabilitates large trees; most importantly, we ensure that they flourish in our nurseries and then in your garden. Our wholesale nurseries are the benchmark in the production of various large, container-grown indigenous and exotic trees ranging from 2.5 to 15m in height.

Even though we are less focused on trees in their natural habitat and more on ornamental trees, oftentimes, in the most unnatural urban and semi-urban environments, science always remains firmly rooted in our approach. Our owner and founder, Dag Willems, a professional Ecologist and Arborist (BSc Forestry US), offers his professional consultation services to various organisations, including the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Cape Town City Council, and numerous universities.

We’ve spent the past three decades developing our intimate understanding of large trees in South Africa – we’ve recorded how they grow, we’ve analysed what makes them resilient and unique, and we’ve developed propriety systems and processes to ensure that they flourish in whichever transplanted setting. We understand that every tree is unique and each space, is different.

Every single tree installation that we do is planned, treated, and quoted as an independent project. Before the installation process begins, we’ll first assess the best-suited tree, discuss these options with you, and reach an agreement before we proceed. Our Tree Warehouses

We currently have two nurseries that cover 25 hectares around the Cape Peninsula and Southern Cape. Our feature Cape Peninsula nursery and head office is situated on the rolling hills of the Lynedoch valley between the N2 and Stellenbosch. Traveling east along the coast you’ll find our Southern Cape (Garden Route) nursery. It is located at the start of the picturesque Karatara Pass in Sedgefield.

Our Tree Sizes

Our nurseries hold a stock of trees in a variety of sizes. Our smallest tree fits into a 250-litre bag, followed by 500-, 1000-, 2000-, 3000-, and 4500-litre bags. Special requirement bags can go as far as 7000-litre bags. Whether your landscape requires a tree that’s 2.5m tall or a tree that’s 15m tall, we’ll have one perfectly suited for you.
